Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wings whole or separated into flats and drumettes*
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil to help the seasoning stick and promote crispiness
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder for bold savory flavor
  • 1 teaspoon paprika to add color and mild spice
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder for extra depth
  • ½ teaspoon salt or more to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper for a hint of heat

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F for 5 minutes.
  • Pat the chicken wings completely dry using paper towels, then transfer them to a large bowl.
  • Drizzle the wings with olive oil and toss to coat evenly.
  • Sprinkle the garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper over the wings. Stir well to coat them with the seasonings.
  • Arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving a little space between each piece. Cook in batches if needed.
  • Air fry at 400°F for 8 minutes, flip the wings, then cook for another 8–10 minutes until they’re crispy and cooked through.
  • Serve hot with buffalo sauce, ranch dressing, BBQ sauce, or your favourite dipping sauce.

Notes

If your wings aren’t already split into drumettes and wingettes with the tips removed, you can do this yourself or leave them whole. For convenience, look for party-style wings, which come pre-split.
While you can cook wings straight from frozen in the air fryer, it's best to thaw them first. Thawed wings get crispier and hold seasonings better. If cooking from frozen, ensure the pieces aren’t stuck together and add 5–7 minutes to the cook time.
To bake wings in the oven: Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top. Spray the rack with cooking spray and arrange the wings in a single layer. Bake at 400°F for 20 minutes, flip the wings, then bake for another 20–30 minutes until crisp.
